External HDs and Firewire

So, I finally decided on my Audio Interface. The Presonus Firestudio Mobile. It connects through firewire. Only problem is, I already ordered a PCI firewire card with one 6pin firewire input, and one 4pin.

I jumped the gun, and I realized that I'm going to need an external HD that's also firewire. Well, the problem is that how the hell am I going to have 2 firewire inputs going into one card with only one 6 pin connector?

Should I buy another PCI card (One with 3 firewire 6pin inputs), or a duplicate to put below the one I already ordered for 2 firewire inputs in 2 PCI cards? Or can I go the USB 2.0 route, but then I've heard that it's not as fast for music production (I'm not sure). Also to note, my PC is skinny, so I need low profile cards...

Help? :)

Use a 4-6 pin adapter for the interface.

The other two pins are used to power the firewire device *if necessary*. The Presonus doesn't need to be powered by the firewire bus, so it'll be fine.

And most PCs dont power the extra 2 pins anyway.

I've been running a Motu828mkII for years on a 6-to-4pin cable with zero problems.

Cool, thanks I didn't know that. I figured the 4 pins were just for digital cameras and such.
