My recordings are broadcast wav files, sample rate: 96,000 Khz, 24-bit.
For some reason when i export to audio mixdown 44,100 Khz, 16-bit, the wav file skips constantly through the whole song. Can anyone help me with what i am doing wrong?

I also exported another project the same way but this one was recorded using 44,100 Khz 16-bit, and it turned out fine. I don't understand what is happening.

I've never tried 96k, but everything always works fine with my 48k files. Have you looked at the waveforms of the exported file to see if there are any extreme signal spikes that may be audible as digital distortion? With 96k you have an increased dynamic range, so that is what I would guess first off to be the problem.

Darryl.....

The exported wav file has a bunch of "holes" in it. I assume this is where it is skipping.

Why are you sampling so high?, 48 Khz is just fine.

96k doesn't give you more dynamic range. Bits give you dynamic range, sample rate gives you resolution.

i'm using a SB audigy 2

I worked around the problem by converting the project and all the audio files to 44,100 khz before exporting. Does anyone how I could export in 44,100 khz without converting all the audio first?

The audigy doesn't record at 24 bit, It only plays it back. I wonder if that has anything to do with it.
