So my buddy has a bunch of sessions in protools LE that I would like to import into logic. I know that we need to make an OMF or AAF file.

Not sure how to do that in PT, though. There is an "Export" option under the file menu but it was grayed out.

Any thoughts? Can you even do this in LE? I don't speak protools, so keeping it basic would be good. :-)

Thanks!

If you have not done any mixing in pro tools you can just export the regions. This is not real time so it would save you a lot of time. Just select a region at a time and i believe it's option shift k on a mac or alt shift k on a pc to export the region.

The only thing is any fade files or mixing done(insert, sends, fader volumes, automation) will not be exported. If you need just the fade files all you have to do is consolodate.

Here's what you do:

1) select all tracks, from the very start of the song to the very end of the song.
2) Select Region---> Consolidate. This should create all new tracks, with the entirety of the song.
3) Find the files in the [session name]/audio folder.

voila!
