Recently I had to do a complete reformat on my computer and when I loaded everything back on, when I went to open my projects, It couldn't locate certain tracks because I all my edits and audio files were all being dumped into ONE folder (without me actually knowing)

So having backed up everything, I painstakingly loaded that massive folder back onto my computer in it's original position (the folder that had all my audio and edits in it) Now all my tracks are back, but now I'm left with a colossal folder with insane amounts of unused out-takes and edits etc that I want to be able to delete because it's taking up too much space.

Can someone talk me though saving each song into it's own new file, retaining all it's own tracks, levels and settings so it's all together and I can then delete the original colossal folder

What I mean is, I want to be able to EXPORT the song into a new folder that has EVERYTHING it needs within that folder and then continue working on it.

I also need someone to show me how to get each project to save any new recorded tracks (audio pool) within it's own folder where the actual song file is, rather than all in ONE folder together, which was happening previously to my reformat

I hope you can understand what I'm on about, I just want to neaten up the way I work. :cool:
 
I don't know how to fix your current problem. I had the same thing happened to me except i was working on one song,
and decided to empty the trash in the pool. this deleted all my other tracks from all my other songs.
Now when i start a new song, I allways create a new file under "new project" so that each song
has its own audio and images folder, and its own pool.

This can help in the future!!

As far a as your current situation..

Create a "new project" then import the tracks you need and save the project.
That might work.

LOL x1000!! you just did! ;) I saved the file to a new folder and it saved all the used audio tracks with it!!!!!!

And as for the audio pool problem, you made me realize I have to 'start a new project' every time, to have it store the audio pool along with it. Before, I was using an existing song as a template and just deleting all the tracks, which in turn made it store all the audio data in that original folder!

Problems solved, and you weren't even trying! nice work ;) ;)

Took me awhile to figure out to start a new project with every song.

You can create a template to start from.

When i start a new project, i select the template and i loads
all the settings i have stored for recording my drum set.

Make sure to create a new folder for each song that way its audio and
images folder are stored in one folder with the .cpr file..
