This is a work in progress that I started this morning. It's all been written and recorded over the course of 7 hours. There aren't any vocals yet but I'm only curious about how the instruments sound together at this point. I'm in the process of tweaking levels and getting the tones I want for the guitars, bass, and drums. Give it a listen. Any feedback is very welcome. Thank you!

This was recorded in Mixcraft. Guitars and bass sounds are produced with a Digitech RP1000. Drums sounds come from Addictive Drums. Mixing and mastering performed in Mixcraft with iZotope Ozone 5 plugins.

Here is a revised version of the song. I just made a few adjustments but I think those small changes are gonna go a long way. Check it out and let me know what you think. Thanks!

Here is yet another update. I thought the mix was sounding a bit thin so I beefed it up a bit. Which one do you think sounds best?

The cymbals are a bit much, I think. I've never been a fan of the hit-the-crash-every-8th-note school of percussion though.

Otherwise, it sounds like a decent mix.

Thanks, Steve. I'll try messing around with that cymbal crash a bit.

Great snare snap and love the guitar. Might bring bass and guitar up a bit (any guess what my main instrument is?)... but, wow, the mix really kicks ass.

When does the Rob Zombie vocal come in?

I agree with VHS on the brass--might be a bit much. And I agree with mbrusko on the bass--could come up some. But overall, this is a very tight, very big sounding mix. Nice work!

Less cymbal (as it not as often - you've added too much punctuation to your sentences so the clauses get confused) and the bass needs more bottom end as well as a little definition (3db at 200 & 4 at 3k).
Other than that it's waiting for vocals.
