Hey homerecorders, I've been on the BBS for a month or two and have learned a great deal of tips and techniques....

Check out "The Way it Goes" at:

http://www.soundclick.com/bands/3/djcrispycutzmusic.htm

I just finished it, had like 16 trks. open in CEP to mix, I'm proud but at the same time I know nothing can ever be perfect, but specifically I was wondering if I need compression and if it would help the mix.

All feedback is greatly appreciated, and will be returned if not done so already.

Damn Crisp, nice mix. I could totally see dancing to this at a club.

Listening to this on buds, it's hard to crtique. The only thing I can think of which really is a matter of style is that the higher pitched voice on the track that seems to lead the song has the least presence. You could use a variety of tricks to give it a larger sound. Then again, it works as is. Good Work.

Crit on the mix alone...

The vocals seem a bit "tinny" and you need to use some form of compression on it. Then an EQ to give it more warmth in my opinion. The layered vocals when you come in and out, are mixed slightly off, they should blend instead of one overcutting the other. Other than that, it's a decent mix.

16 tracks... I remember the days when I used to use that few..lol..

My last song had about 43 tracks. ;)
