Well, right now I have an MPX200. Its okay for the time being though as the threads herein point out, there is not enough control. I wish to upgrade this part of my studio. I was wondering abot the Eventide Eclipse as compared to a similarly priced Lexicon or, possibly, something else for that matter. I know there is a Sony reverb that is supposed to be absolutely killer but this device is way beond the price range that is reasonable so that is out of the question unless I, for some reason, have a windfall in some of my ventures.
What would you use given about a 2k budget for reverb.

<What would you use given about a 2k budget for reverb.>

Went through this a little while back. I knew I wanted more Lexicon based on what I'd heard in the LPX-1. So doing my homework like a good little tech, bought the manuals for the 300', PCM80 and 90 to see how they compared structure wise. Then did what we're supposed to do- got the 80 and 90 side by side to see (and hear) which one would be the keeper.
Next came a loan for about 4K...

Anyhow, the 90 (or 91 now) works great in the dual reverb split mode, which is how I use it more often than not, still has extra delay path options, while the 80 has all the other tools plus good reverb. The pcmcia' cards open them both up for even more flexibillity, like 'harmonizing' in the 80 (81).

I don't have any recent experience with Eventides, nor the TC 3000, which is supposed to be a completely different animal, so I can't go there. (better I should stay away i think)
You should be able to find a vendor that will let you check a few out. They don't like it, but if you both know up front you'll be responsible for them, they'll do it.
See ya.

In the end its use your ears

I guess the overriding theme in "what would your use" or "what do you use" type questions is to simply listen and use your ears. Can't go wrong unless you have no ear in which case, what would be the difference then?
