Event 20/20bas or Mackie HD824

Has anyone tried them both? I have Event 20/20's, but I think they tend to rattle a bit too much on low end. (I'm always hearing the cone make funny noises on the bass - that's what I get for loaning them out)

But I've read very good things about the Mackie monitors, so I'm wondering if anyone would ever choose them over Event 20/20's

The Mackies sounded great. A friend has a pair for $1150 (you pay shipping), and they are about 3 months old and in fantastic, pristine shape... he's got Genelecs now. I've been wanting them, but can't afford them. They are some big boogers, too.
If you want a pair for $1150 plus shipping, let me know...

If all monitors were mackie 824s the whole world would be cool.
 
I dont know. Mackies sounded too good to my ears- I was afraid I would undermix.
