Bass does need to come up a little. What's up with the timing? Things sound a little off. The guitar that sweeps from left to right about halfway though, sounds a little heavy on the midrange to me. I'm using Tannoy Reveals for monitors.

im using m-audio bx5's.... as you may know they do lack very much in the bass range so determining the bass leval is quite difficult ( gotta save for that sub ).

i think timing may be because the lack of power in the headphones to the drummer recording. im using the digi002, got the volume all the way up on the headphone jack but it doesnt seem like its enough....

would a headphone amp solve this problem ?

Yes, a headphone amp would definitely give you enough boost on the signal for him to be able to hear it well.

Or you might wanna try something like the extreme isolation headphones, then they wont have to be blasting to the point of ear damage to hear over the live drums.
