i just switched to evans G2 heads, WOW am I impressed.

I put G2 clear on the bottoms and G2 coated on the tops. They sound a real nice warm, open, focused.

i was using remo clear pinstripes and the sound was just too slappy for recording. i've been using them for 15 years and finally switched!

Anyway, no real point to this post, just wanted to boast about my sweet sounding newly tuned drums. :-)

G1

I think you should put G1 heads on the bottoms. But keep the G2s on the tops, they rule.

Thanks for sharing

Way to go! The G2s are great to work with in the studio. Enjoy! -Rez

When I pulled the stock heads off my PDP kit, I went to G1 clears top and bottom (bad idea, don't ever try it), and then swapped to G2 coateds on top, and yes, they sound GREAT!

I'm using the G2's on the bottom because I wanted to cut some ring off my toms for the studio, and it worked wonders. I'm very pleased with the sound.

No more remo for me, except a resonant ambassador on the bottom of my snare. :-)

Evans G2 heads rawk :D . I started to use them a few months ago, and will probley stick to them. Give me a nice sound when record'in.

i've been using G2's for years on my toms, and i've been nothing but thrilled. there have been times where i've entertained the thought of putting on a set of pinstripes, but i can never actually do it. and i'm sure that when i do, it'll only serve to reinforce why i stopped using them. :p

i do have to admit to being pissed off about the sheer pitiful number of players points that come with the drumheads compared to those you get with guitar strings. grrrrr.

cheers,

on my set the G2/G2 is way to muffled... when properly tuned.

presently I've settled on the G2/Resonant...

if you're having to settle on a G2/G2 for damping, then it's not tuned correctly...
