i got this rack and sound very very nice have tones of control of what sound i want with harmonies and straight vocals... my question is does an one know the best compression for vocals that i can set and try out

I don't know what you're recording or what your levels are like, but in most cases I would say you can pretty much say goodbye to all transients and any life that was in the recording.
But if that was sarcasm then...
It always pays to tread very lightly and carefully with compression. That is unless you know what you want to achieve and heavy compression is part of achieving that. If you don't actually know how you want to shape the sound with the compressor though then slamming stuff through it hard will just ruin it.
The answer is there is no 'best compression' for vocals. Its purely down to what you think best. Some people might say not to compress vocals at all... its all personal preference. Have a (careful) play and see what works well
On a side note: unless you are very competent and confident with a compressor, I wouldn't recommend tracking through one. I know its tempting because the Eureka is a 'channel strip'-type unit, but get the vocal recorded dry then go back and try compression on it afterwards.

Those are pretty heavy settings, I would never use 8:1 on any electric guitar. Hell, most distorted guitars don't even need compression.

ok cool thankyou every one i have been using the setting that come in the book that dont do any thing so i will try these .. and i will also try it dry .. thank you all
