 Huh?

What if you aren't really happy?

Why would you need a Projectmix AND a 410? Why not get either one?

Do you own these equipment or planning to purchase them soon? If you already them, I suggest you keep them and learn more until you master it.

i want both the project mix for a control surface and the firewire 410 for a sound card and interface. isn't that what they are for? i am so confused.lol

The Projectmix IS a control surface AND an audio interface/sound card.....

but the firewire 410 also is a MIDI interface isn't it? is the project mix that too or would i have to get it separately?

lol i knew this thread was gonna be confusing.

Do a little research on the gear at harmonycentral.com and other places such as musiciansfriend.com etc...

why don't you go to the m-audio site and answer your own questions..? we ain't gonna spoon feed you for everything...

i got rid of the firewire 410... i honestly did not know that the projectmix had an interface... now that all that is done... can everyone just look at my equipment list and make suggestions for what you would use instead and things like that

I have a couple of suggestions.

I do not use pro-tools myself, but my son does at the studio he works at part-time. If you are relying heavily on pro-tools for midi implementation, there may be other software that will do it as well or better for less money. Don't buy pro-tools simply for the name. There are some who say that other programs do midi better. Such as Sonar or Cubase.

Also, the 3035 is a decent choice for the money. (I own one) Also, try the preamps on the m-audio piece first, to see if you really need a tube pre. They may actually do what you want, and good tube pres are pricey. I would suggest buying your gear apiece at a time, to see what it can do. You may find that some of it would prove to be redundant, and a wasted purchase. Kind of like getting both the 410 and project mix.

Good luck.

i'd also suggest that if you have a good computer system, that the mpc might be unnecessary. you could get a control surface with pads like the m-audio trigger finger so that you could tap in beats and trigger samples and stuff and a little usb midi keyboard and use your computer like a super-powered mpc.
