thanks kev
it sucks to have a limited budget, it seems like a mic is hit or miss when buying one if you haven't used it prior to getting it. the only mic i have used at a "professional studio" (which i am now realizing wasn't that "professional") was the Akg C3000B so that's the first mic I purchased. However he results i got from the studio truly SUCKED, and i noticed the engineer compressed the hell out of my vocals to where i almost sound like a robot, so I thought it was actually a "professional" mic and just a bad engineer. but to his credit, he produces and records platinum selling artist there.
At the same time I know it's not my vocals that sound this bad because before my attempt at a home studio i have recorded at many, many other studio's most were basement studios still getting better results.
Maybe it was because I don't have the name of the other artist he records he did a half ass job? Anyway I am still unhappy with the C3000B mic.
Btw anybody, I know this isn't the "equipment forum" but does this sound like any professional recording studio you guys have been to? or is it more like a home studio? I know first hand there is no mixers at all.
