They make them in Memphis (same as all of the ES guitars). They are really nice and that is a killer price. Nearly hard to believe.

We had a sheraton come into the guitar shop, I used to work at..... It was killer. I'd love to own one.... If you get that, I'm going to leave you negative rep out of jealously. :D

(I won't really, but I would be jealous). :)

Well, call me crazy but please don't neg rep me. :D I went for it! The original Sheraton with the Frequensator tailpiece in antique natural. I don't even need another guitar but how could I pass up on a deal like this? They're going for $2555.00 at Music 123. I paid $999.00 with case and free shipping and no sales tax. I'm flyin' high with GAS pherenomes.

As it's a closeout item, I'm just keeping my fingers crossed I don't an e-mail saying they're sold out. That would be a bummer. :(

Sweet!!! You'll have to post some sound clips when you get it....

I was able to stomach my jealousy and not negative rep you. (I actually postive rep-ed you, with a little "congrats note".)

I hope you love it man :D

CONGRATS TO YOU TO NEWBIE DOO!!! :D :D :D

...the peer pressure here is just awful...

...mine should come in next Tuesday or Wednesday... :D Haha!

Cheers! The Sheraton or the Sheraton II?

Reps all around for everyone here!

Just got confirmation that mine shipped today. Yeehaa! I was a bit nervous because some posters in the Epiphone forum claimed they sold out a week or two ago.

Sheraton II

I have a Sheraton II purchased about seven years ago (Made in China). Paid around $700 w/ hard case at Guitar Center. Remains one of my prized possessions. Plays like a dream. Sounds great. I used it in studio recording versus the Gibson Les Pauls they had on hand. Only complaint is that after a couple years of road use, the 1/4" input got really noisy so I had it repaired.

Did your's come in yet?? How do you like it?

Should be in tomorrow.

I just read in another forum that someone ordered one and it didn't come with a case. But a MF customer service person told me the case was included.

Mine will be in Wednesday according to tracking.
I played a Sheraton once...it seemed like a very cool playing guitar....has kioller looks too.

Congrats hix.

Im selling a mex strat to a guiatr player in another band (i never play it). All I have now is an acoustic and the '66 strat. It's been a long time since I didn't have some extra guitars around. I don't ever play anything but the start so I got rid of them.

Thanks jimi. I'm hoping I'll like it but now I'm really nervous. I've been reading at the Epi and FDP forums there is no case included and several have arrived in crappy packaging jobs with the headstock "dangling by the strings". I called MF about the case before I placed my order and was told it was included. Otherwise the reports about the ones arriving in one piece have been very favorable. I guess I can always send it back.

Got my Sheraton today, my sheraton II should come in tomorrow or thursday.

First of all, let me say this is an very, very nice guitar. Great tone, looks and mojo.

Well worth the 1k to me, especially compared to other sub $1K guitars I've purchased recently and the various hollowbody gibsons and others I've tried at the local pro shop and guitar center stores that just didn't have "IT". Many were nice, but this one has the mojo. Just what I was looking for. No, it does not come with a case. But when I asked they told me it didn't so no gripe there.

Bottom line is that this is a great guitar and worth the money.

However, there is a BIG BUT here.

I am feeling a little "ripped-off in principle" because...

1. Nowhere on the guitar does it say John Lee Hooker or Epiphone USA. It says Sheraton Reissue on the sticker in the F hole. I think the John Lee Hooker everywhere is a little cheesy anyhow but still, that is what is supposed to make this guitar collectible.
2. I thought this was a made in the USA model? It says "Assembled In The USA" on a sticker on the back of the headstock.
3. The pickguard looks like ONE thick piece of plastic and it has a squared edge, it does not show the nice 5 layers with a beveled edge like you expect.
4. The "Metal E" on the pickguard is basically an aluminum foil E sticker.
5. There is no "stamped original serial number of John Lee Hooker's guitar". There is no stamped serial number at all, just a sticker with a serial number attached to the Epiphone sticker inside the body by the top F hole. The sticker says Epiphone, Inc. Kalamazoo Michigan (for whatever that's worth).
6. Blank black two layer truss rod cover. No shiny E, no John Lee Hooker on it. Very blah.
7. This is a HUGE point to me if its true...I think this is a polyurethane finish, not laquer. That is probaly the main reason I took a chance and bought this thing and one of the reasons I expected the value to increase over time. I don't know how to verify this. What would that do to the future resale value of this guitar?

Seems to me that these guys at Musician's Friend are seriously testing the limits of the false advertising laws.

Still, like that beautiful beotch girlfriend from high-school that treated you bad but played soooo nice. I like this one too much to send it back. :D

I'll have to seriouly re-consider letting epiphone make my signature model when I make it big. :D

A couple things to clarify.

Its not a JLH sig model, it didnt say it was. It just mentioned his name in the ad, which is confusing, especially with the dumb serial number thing. Its BETTER than that sig model. Its definately nitro as thats all they spray in Memphis, where it ws put together. The michigan refrence is just cause its an authentic "reissue". Theres no real Epi USA, it was done in the Gibson plant in TN. And, going back to the "reissue" thing, serials back then were stamped only on the label on the inside of the body.

Be happy you don't have a guitar with some other guys name on it. It can be YOUR guitar.

Yeah, if you don't like it you can send it back. I have never bought a guitar online before. The same model of guitars, I have played in various music stores, will be like night and day in terms of playability (I think that is more an initial set-up issue that anything else though).

You are getting a great price, so, i wouldn't sweat it if it didn't come with a case. There are alot of different guitars that use a case that would fit a Sheraton. Shouldn't be too hard to locate a decent used one at a good price.

Am I the only one in this thread that knows Eipis are pos?Why in fuck
would you waste a grand on one?
