Epi Sheraton II

I got one and I love it, smooth neck, awsome tones, the only drawback is the regular epiphone crappy pickup switch, volume and tone knobs, etc. I didn''t like the tuning pegs at first but after a little use they got better. Overall I love my sherri, I have the sunburst finish with gold hardware and it is a beautiful looking guitar. I use mine for a little rockabilly/psychobilly stuff I do on the side and it sounds amazing clean and gets a really nice overdriven tones with dfferent amps as well.

One of the major on-line sellers has a new scratch & dent for $449. I'm very tempted.

I had one for a couple of years and loved it. One of my bandmates lusted over it so I sold it to him, now he loves it ....
Great value on a very playable axe. Yeah on the quality issues w/ electronics, but all are easily replaceable.

Thanks, guys.

I just called the retailer about the nature of the cosmetic blemish. The customer support rep doesn't have the exact information, but he said that it could be anything from a light belt buckle scratch on the back to any other minor nick.

So there's a possibility that the dent & scratch stuff is returned merchandise, or could have just suffered a minor bonk during shipping.

I have one & I really like it - it balances my single coil MIJ Bruno for tone.
It's a good piece too though I had a prob with the p/u selector switch.
Wasn't cheap down under either.
Very playable, good fun, good weight - it's actually quite good.

Careful on that, a lot of those guitars wind up as seconds because they're just not playable. They'd be better for shooting arrows than playing chords.

Right - that really sent up a red flag for me.

I'll be passing on this one.

Sometimes the blemish in a "scratch and dent" is something so minor as to be unnoticeable. Just find out from the place you're ordering from if you can return the guitar at their expense if you're not happy with it.

Hix, returning the item is not a problem - I just decided to to a 90-degree direction change on guitars.

I noticed. Any MIA Tele from the Standard on up is a good choice.

My brother-in-law had one of these and was always complaining that it wouldn't stay in tune. Of course, the fact that his playing technique is to attack the strings in the most literal sense of the word had nothing to do with it. I tried to suggest one time that using a lighter touch and letting the electronics do the work for him would result in fewer problems--that suggestion was disregarded because (in my brother-in-law's words) I didn't play professionally while he has over fifteen years of "professional" experience.
Professional experience my eye. The guy plays in pick-up bands in little country "oprys" for whatever money people throw in a cigar box.
I found the sound pleasing for my purpose and offered to buy it from him but he has the idea that any guitar should appreciate in value simply because he has touched it. He has delusions that he's better than Hendrix, Clapton, Beck, Page, and Keaggy put together--actually he's probably never even heard of any of them since (according to him) the only music worth playing (and listening to) is country. Please spare me!

Are you going to turn Left or Right? :D

Good Guitar

I had a Sunburst Epi Sheraton for about 4 years. I installed and gold Bigsby trem and replaced the pickups with Gibson 57' reissues. I liked that guitar quite a bit, but eventually traded it for a Strat that I thought I would like better; still wish I had it. Bad case of G.A.S.
