Ensoniq SQ1 lost RAM

I recently replaced battery and re-initialized sequencer, as prompted, unit now will record and play sequences recorded during this session. Once unit is powered down, all previously recorded data is gone.

I have tried two new batteries, and result is the same.

Any suggestions?
