Well good for fuckin you.

Alot

A person looking to make emo music.

If he knows something I don't then he can keep it a secret. Happy? :)

Let's leave that to himself

Internet threats...
You are hardcore. I'm very frightened

You know you said you didn't have the knowledge to help out. So if you didn't why don't you just stay away from the thread in the first place, instead of giving a good kid a hard time?

Ben

ok, no screams then,
but i know a bunch of emo bands where there's a screamer too,
so give them the dynamic ;)

did i miss something here, this CLIP.MP3 , are that two different bands?

I'd think it does. Proximity effect isn't going to be flattering, and the more responsive high-end of the condenser will be desirable for its breathiness--used to convey emotion, or the exaggeration thereof.

michael jackson is pretty breathy and his vocals on I believe thriller (could have just been the song, but also could have been the whole record) were done with an sm7.

lots of "emo type bands" use mics like the sm7.

the band this thread is about is a massive coheed and cambria ripoff. which is far far far from emo. the man up there who suggested an sm7 and assumed there would be screaming is the most accurate one so far in this thread.

Co&Ca should probably stop writing wack pop-punk songs and start sounding more like they did on Second Stage Turbine Blade.

I believe it was Billie Jean, but ask Harvey, I think he had some connection to that mic, I forget. Maybe it was the whole record.

Anyway, sure Jackson is breathy, but Thriller sounds NOTHING like modern hyped high-end records. If you had a breathy singer and wanted to tone that down, the SM7 is perfect.

They do. But as I recall the links above, they were more whiny than screamy.

Well... I got definitley got the help I needed and I thank Ben and whoever else pointed me in the right direction. I dont want this to turn into a long fight thread, so if a mod could lock or delete it that'd be good. Thanks again for all of the input.

You can lock it if you like, under "Thread Tools" :)
