Electrical Interference

I'm about to convert my garage into a home studio - getting the builders in to do it right. Problem is the main fuse board for the whole house is in the garage and I suspect that it will give off a lot of interference to equipment in the same room. Any ideas on how I could shield the fuse box - without tearing it out or moving it to another location within the house (not an option)... ? Or is this even likely to be a problem at all???

how big of a service is coming in on that panel? You may experience some EMI in that area. But typically a smaller residential service will not be too problematic as long as you not right in that area.

if the garage/studio is on a separate circuit shouldnt be much if any of a problem....if it seems to be/or your anal about it..... google faraday cage....

Well, I'm no electricion but we have a pretty hefty ELCB board that power upstairs and downstairs from separate circuits. Currently my studio room is above the garage and I notice a lot of interference when I use my Triaxis unit - granted gain = noise but I have used this unit plenty of times in different environments without any of the hum I get at home. I expect that it is due to the electrics being just below the studio floor/on the party wall.
If it is this, is there any shielding that I can use to box off or house the fuse boards?

The box itself is a shield, so if you had a problem, you would have to try something more extreme, like using metal conduit for your entire house But my old studio was in the same room as the panel, and I had no troubles. Why not try an experiment and see? Your gear is shielded (well it should be, anyway), so just follow standard practices like keep your gear on the same circuit (but lights on another circuit), wire the studio with star grounding, I would expect that you would be fine.
