Effects units

I'm looking for a pretty good effects unit to do recordings with. The effects on my V amp2 are not quite good enough. I'm especially looking for a Compressor/noise gate. Any suggestions? I have no more than two hundred to spend. How is the Behringer Equalizer Pro? It's only 100 bucks and rack mountable which I want.

In that price range, I don't think you're going to find anything much better than what you've got. Unless you find some great deal on used gear.

well how about for just dynamic effects like compressor. How is the blue max or composser pro?
