Yeah...no box for the Neumanns, but hey you can buy a table saw and make one yourself for the amount of money you save.

I got my Beyer M88 for $170 on ebay. I would say anything under $200 would be a good deal, but I don't think I would go much higher. Unfortunately, mine arrived messed up, which the buyer told me it might be, but since Beyer will repair mics I didn't see the big deal and bought it. Mine is the TG version which is black with a reinforced basket.

I guess I did get a pretty good deal. Mine are in a box and look brand new. Mine are also silver, which I prefer. $750 is a great deal though.

What's the difference between the silver and black ones?

Come on Michael, didn't you know that the color silver tends to have a more uniform frequency curve and the color black tends to hype the highs. Thats why all the original Neumanns were silver too. Black paint is what makes the *new* Neumanns sound brighter.

That is a great price.... for now, but there's still 4 days left and the eventual winner is going to pay more than what it's at now.

The matte black KM184's are designed to be a little less noticeable visually.

I was gonna pick 'em up too.

Guess I'll have to hold out for the silver ones now.....

Sorry guys...I got the link to you early...you snooze you lose I didn't buy them though I promise. I am paying through the nose for a Beyer M88 I just got. $179 off ebay - $149 for the diaphram replacement. I think I might have it gold plated too while I am at it.

Check out that Beyer M500 though later in the thread. Thats not too bad a price if it sits under $200. Its only 125 to have it modded by Steve Sank.
