I doubt if I'll even need any of these...thinking about selling everything.

Looks like you have a hell of a setup on your new design and construction. Personally, I would love nothing more than to see you finish it and hear some clips. The economy is affecting most people, and the media makes it worse. Look at it this way...the bottom has got to be not too far off, if we aren't already there. One day, maybe this year, maybe next, maybe after that, things are going to pick up again for all of us. Try to hang in there until that time comes. I'm excited about seeing the progress you are making on your studio. :):):)

Me too FitZ. Hang in there!!

.....what does this tell YOU?

You need to spend less time analyzing your navel and more time hitting power chords.

Seriously. You're never gonna get a take, much less a "perfect" take at the rate you're going.

I understand the dilemma. I've considered putting the entire shebang over here on Ebay too. But it took too damned long to put it all together so I'm not about to bail out because it's winter and I'm only employed half the time and feel like shit and don't even feel like playing anymore, much less trying to record the effort.

Someday it might come back. Someday the idea that music even has a purpose in my life beyond marking random points in time or simply passing the time might make a comeback as well.

Shit, I still have a hardon for a bass amp. Something big enough to rattle the walls real good around here........ even better would be a pair of those bitchin JBL powered 3-way 15" PA speakers. I'd love to hear the Voyager doing Boogie On Reggae Woman through that setup in my living room.:D

So hang in there. Like an old buddy in NA used to say.....

"It gets better, it gets worse, and then it gets totally fuckin' black."

Unfortunately, the power company doesn't care about power "chords":D Although I understand your reasoning. I used to spend a lot of time here on the board, instead of doing something in the studio worthwhile. Even that is coming to an end. If it weren't for this new "discovery", I wouldn't have spent the time. Most of everything that anyone wants to know is already here or somewhere on the net, as opposed when I started posting here. Unfortunately, this forum STILL doesn't have the right "stickys" to make it easy to find the info for newbies.

Ditto, but try to tell my wife that when the cable gets shut off and she needs it to list for ebay:) Shes been really good to put up with this shit for as long as she has, not to mention the money I've spent on a dream that takes away from fixing the house. Which is another whole subject.
But yea, every day I flip flop. When I get real tired or bills are due, thats when I want to chuck it all. On the other hand, when I wake up, sitting in the studio having my coffee, I look around and see all that I could do in here, I get excited again. And then I look at all that still needs to be done....Flip flop. It comes and goes.

Someday the idea that music even has a purpose in my life beyond marking random points in time or simply passing the time might make a comeback as well.

I think my biggest problem is the lack of someone to play with, and time to practice. I played professionally for 30 years, and had a practice routine to keep my learning curve moving, but now...geezus, I'd be lucky to remember the 60 chord system. I used to be a Bill Conners junkie. Spent years trying to get there. But I found out, working and that level of playing skill don't mix. Like a famous jazz player said...you have to close yourself in a closet for 10 years while somebody else earns and slips your dinner under the door..;) In my case I couldn't have my cake and eat it too.:D As far as someone to play with, I used to have a buddy in Sacramento who was my music compadre. We played together as often as we could for over 40 years.
But then I had to move to Oregon. And at my age, its difficult to find someone compatable, especially on the Oregon coast. But, I know its just me. Its not impossible. Just finding time seems like it.

:D I used to have a pair of Altec A19's. Talk about rattle the house:p You could hear them for a mile.:D I used them for a home rehearsal Pa as well as my playback system. Loved those things, but had to sell them at some point.

So hang in there.
Try to hang in there

Thanks a whole bunch guys. Actually, I expected the usual "cave" attitude..
"quit your whinnin ya lazy good for nothin!:D

Well, I gotta little time this morning. Think I'll start hooking up the patch bays. Got 3 brand new ones on ebay a couple of months ago. Dang, I can actually hook the M3700 up correctly now!

Thanks again guys. You made my day.:)

Good to hear it FitZ. You got any new pics of the place to keep us going. Yours is the place I've most wanted to see/enjoyed seeing since i came to HR, back in 2005. Don't give up! I'd come help if I could! :o

Not here. Most of us know full well how this whole shebang can drop to the bottom when those little 'trivials' like 'life basics' rear their heads.
