Easy way to get audio out?

So I have a pair of cheap studio monitors but I like to check them on my computer speakers since I'm still learning the monitors. So my question is, is there an easier way to switch to these speakers besides bouncing a song to disk, then loading it up in itunes or another program to listen to it?
 
You could go to Radio Shack and buy a cord and connect them to your computer sound card directly just like you do with your computer speakers. If they are self powered monitors that's even better.
 
I'm running my monitors from my digi rack though. How can I distinguish where I want to send my audio? What kind of cable?
