EA1 shockmount doesn't fit stand!?

I just bought a Neumann TLM103 along with the dedicated EA1 shockmount. However, the EA1 doens't seem to FIT my mic stand although the cheap plastic mount that comes with the mic screws on just fine. What's going on? Why are they different sizes? There's a screw-on connector on my stand but nothing matches the threads on the EA1. Any ideas??

Check to see if there is a small slotted metal insert in the connector...remove it with a coin or screwdriver and you should be good to go.
