E-MU 1212m Driver Issue..

Hello. I just purchased an E-MU 1212m audio interface/soundcard today. The drivers that came on the disc with the product were for Windows 2000/XP/x64 only, and I'm on Vista 64. I went to the page for the product on the E-MU official site and downloaded the updated drivers which are compatible with Vista 64. Every time I run the .exe installer for the drivers it does some initializing, asks for my language and for me to agree to their terms of service, then just crashes my computer and sends me to BSOD (blue screen of death) and my PC reboots. Every time. Anyone have a slightest clue what could be causing this? I've uninstalled all previous drivers from my Presonus interface, Soundblaster card, and ASIO4ALL driver and I have all applications closed during installation. All specifications are met for the hardware, and they're connected to and recognized by my PC perfectly fine. Thanks.
 
Could be a lot of things. I recommend first making sure your OS is current with ALL updates. Also make sure all of your drivers are up to date as well.
 
Also take note of the error (00x0000000000666 whatever.sys) the blue screen shows and google it. Odd's are you aren't the only person with the problem and you may find a solution that way as well.
 
Alright so I went and updated some of my outdated drivers, the only one that isn't updated still is my GeForce video card because they don't have an up to date driver for it for Vista64. The driver installation for the 1212m E-MU card still was sending me to BSOD so I tried installing it in Safe Mode. In safe mode, at the point where I'm usually sent to BSOD it popped an error up saying that the driver isn't for my correct OS (even though it is, checked to make sure several times - it's the Vista64 latest driver on the E-MU site). I continued with the installation regardless of the error and it seemed to install perfectly fine. I rebooted out of Safe Mode and everything seemed to be installed correctly - device manager was showing that the device was recognized and updated and the Windows volume mixer/Windows Media Player/Winamp/etc. was recognizing audio being played. But no sound is coming out of my monitor speakers.
 
Also, I get this error when I try and open PatchMix (the software that comes with the card).

"You don't appear to have sufficient E-Mu hardware to load the session in your system. This may because the session expects more E-Mu hardware than what you have installed on your system. You may continue limited editing of this PatchMix DSP Session but you may not hear audio as expected."

I'll go see if I can gather any info from the error #.
