Ok I've strayed away from the behringers.

Now I've narrowed it down to these two choices. I don't have the luxury of trying them out so I'm asking you guys to help.

Cab 1 This is the "Matching" cab for the head I'm getting

Cab 2

Ok I'm using the amp to get a heavy tone so I guess I need a cab to match. Sorry if this question is kind of varied.

Just put yourself in my situation and tell me which one you'd buy.

Cheers

Heard lots of baaaad things about Ashton. I was gonna get one though. Hey, if they're good enough to be a prize on 'The Price Is Right'.....

Yeah but I payed $300 for an all tube (ashton) head so I figure If I don't like it sell the head and the cab for what I payed and it's all good.

BACK TO THE CAB PEOPLE....PLEASE :D

i'm not familiar with either of those...what speakers are loaded inside? I mean seriously, if you get some great speakers in a crappy box, the box can be replaced pretty easily if it ends up rattling after a few months/years/what ever but, if you get crappy speakers in a crappy box well then, you've got crap.

That's why I put up the Avatar link...at least with them, you'll get a nice box and namebrand speakers of your choice. Not tryin to sell ya but if you don't know anything about those cab you've been looking at, I'll attest to the Avatars. Maybe someone else has a better idea?

The Ashton has "4 x 12" Celestion Rocket50 Speakers"
and the Hartake is " Powered by Celestion® speakers "

I'll look deeper into the speakers that the hartake uses.

Are Avitar located in America?

I'm sorry I'd find out myself but my internet is slow.

28.8kbps :(

Yes and they absolutely will NOT ship internationally, according to their website

I wouldn't buy either of those cabs in your original post.

Just because it says Celestion doesn't mean you get the good speakers.

IMO a quality 1 12" cab is better than a shitty 412. A quality name brand 412 is $800.
The Avatar might be cheaper than that, but that would be the exception to the rule...and while I don't want to bash them at all, I doubt if they have the road ruggedness of a Marshall or Mesa cab....they might, but they just don't have that 'look'.

I have owned Marshall 1960A cabs, and the Avatar 4x12 (Carpet and metal grille)...

The Avatar will hold up better than my Marshalls did. Really....

Both have great construction, but the carpet is holding better than the Marshall vinyl....

Not to split hairs, but I was refering to the integrity of the cabs construction against the road...not the vinyl.

As was I.... I opened up the cabinet (which is quite heavy), to install casters and put in a toggle for the Stereo wiring, and was VERY surprised to see how well made the actual "box" was... I knew what you were talking about. Sorry if I wasn't clear. Also, the quality of the birch wwas superb, no knots, and a very tight grain. This is not a lightweight box by any stratch..... (CAVEAT: I bout mine about 2 years ago, before the big price hikes.)

Avatar shouldn't get nagged on about their prices, they're not cheap due to the quality, they're cheap because there's one less entity in the chain to ask for money from the consumer.

Exactly right... Dave is "direct" to the consumer, and takes everyorder....

ALSO... he has you "custom-spec" your cabinets... try getting that from Marshall!!!!
