I'm trying to build a pedal that has two momentary switches each with it's own output for an Alesis MicroVerb 4. These two switches will be connected to a single footswitch input jack via 1/4" TRS splitter. There's only one footswitch input available.

Here's the weird part: Both switches need to be connected to a different part of the TRS jack.

Here's what I mean:
The bypass function is connected to the TIP of the TRS input, while the tap tempo delay function is connected to the RING of the TRS input. Is there a way to solder these connections in the pedal box so that each switch's output only connects to the TIP or the RING of the splitter cable? Or is my problem in the cable?

I'm not sure of your vernacular, but it just sounds like you need a stereo cable, coming from your Alesis, going into a stereo female jack on your pedal, and each section (tip/ring) goes to a momentary switch. I'll assume normally open.
You should be able to do this easy enough, with maybe a DVM at most to confirm your work. All you'd need is two switches, one 1/4" stereo jack, and one Hammond-type enclosure.
Try this for the switches; Switch - Momentary SPST "Soft-Touch"
Try this for the jack; Jack, 1/4 in. Stereo Switchcraft #12B
Try this for the enclosure; Small Bear 125-BB Enclosure

Thank you ranjam! The stereo jack link has a diagram that makes a lot of sense! Thanks again!

So you mean I connect both switches to one Stereo Jack, so that there will be only one cable from the pedal to the Alesis?

Yes. You already know the tip is bypass, and the ring is tap tempo. So an ohmmeter will confirm that the switches are wired properly. But basically, you can't go wrong. If you get the ring and the tip mixed up, you can redo it, or just relabel your switches. Then you run the one cable over to the Alesis, and Robert's your Father's brother.
