They are digital monitors, and it does ((THEORETICALLY))
make sense if you have a digital board to have digital monitors
to eliminate hum/buzz/hiss factor.
Mind you, I have a DM-24 but I could still use them if ((SONICALLY)) they work as mentioned -- can anyone elaborate of them?
I read that article myself, and I don't agree with their reasoning. They state that because the D/A converters on the Roland DS-90a's are 24-bit, they are locked to the current standard, and won't upgrade to future standards. Well, you don't pay all that much for the Digital feature, so if that's a concern, well, they do have an analog jack on them as well. I think that they sound great. I listened to many monitors before I bought these. I run them 100% digitally.
I didn't like the DS-50's at all, to be honest with you. Poor low end response. But the DS-90a's sound great to me. They were the best addition to my studio last year.
