Drummers, Could you help me out?

Im looking into buying a new kit. I saw the Pacific LX series, and have heard good things about these, and they are in my price range. The only thing Im worried about with this kit is that its a fusion. I play hard rock/punk, Am i going to be able to get that deep sound I am looking for with this kit?


Also, reccomend kits!!

Are you going to be playing places where your kit will be mic'd through a pro PA system? If so, the sizes of the drums in the kit doesn't really matter.
Most of the major label recordings are recorded using small drums because they mic better.

The sizes shouldnt be too much of a problem, if you want you can get a 16" floor tom as well. Other Products you shoudl definately check out are the Sonor 3005 and the Mapex Pro M, both are extremely good for the price.
 
If you are looking for big tone, the Mapex Pro M series has some big sets. Also, the Pearl ELX 6-peice fusion set might be decent. It has a 16 inch tom as well as a 14 so it might be a little deeper. I know a guy who plays this set and is extremely pleased at the low warm tones he can get once he tunes it.
 
Ya, the Pro M is another that i have been looking at.
 
Yeah, I personally perfer smaller toms. Not jsut for recording/miking purposes, but because they save a lot of space. Plus, being a smaller player, it makes everthing a bit more accessible.
