I agree, but I am improving. Why don't you try it?
Perhaps he has tried, but found it was impossible...

Come on, The Seifer. What the hell was that?

Don't worry moskus, this creature is apparently not sentient. Blue Bear wasted dozens of posts trying to elicit some evidence of an IQ from it. I just felt like lobbing a little pebble, must have been in a funny mood - apologies for diverting the thread. Don't know why I bothered.

Middleman

I have DFH2 and the thing that I don't like about it is that the OH are sub mixed into one channel, same goes for the toms. I was wondering if this was the case in DFHS

Can we get a sound clip to go with all these "words" and "sentences", middleman?

after all that does anyone know how well DFHS works with Cubase LE?

It seems like the vst superior drummer will just run like the Lm-7 drum module correct? and then you play the track through superior, then it outputs the qudio into Cubase in terms of all the actuall drums as an indiivdual file?

Try the Cubase forum. :D

AS a newbie, I'm glad I was blindly steered to BFD. It just worked. And pretty good for a beginner. I would have never figured that out. It took me major concentration just to read this thread. Though the product sounds great. Hope they do make a DXi version for Sonar so i can try.

Things have improved since my initial experience above.

New VST wrapper in Sonar works better
Predesigned templates pull DFHS up with a single click.
Windows size correctly now.
They have a streaming and cache mode - your choice.
16 or 24 bit operation.
I've learned to use the bounce feature which gets you out of the DFHS interface and using audio files quicker.

120 MB drives are now considered small so that should not be an issue for anyone.

I will pass one tip along which is insanely simple and obvious but it took me 1.5 years to come up with it. Don't use your fingers for tapping midi tracks on a drumpad. Drumsticks work a whole heck of a lot better, especially for drum rolls.

Yes, I use Roland v drum. Much better than fingers on a pad. And fun. Can you explain the VST wrapper. Is that something I should add or is already there but I'm not using. Also the bounce feature you talk about. Not finding that in manual.

The VST wrapper is built into Sonar but you have to make sure you install it during the intial Sonar install.

Bounce is the final step in the process and allows you to get out of the DFHS interface and start working with audio files that DFHS creates.

Step one is to set up your drum sounds (or use a prebuilt template). Step two is to create a midi track that plays the various drumkit elements. Step three, after you have the drum performance you need, is to bounce the midi performance to audio files.

Once you have the audio files then you can apply traditional compression, delay or reverb etc.
