Well right now I'm mostly playing timbales and Congas, but when I seat down, it is mostly a Tama drum set, or whatever the drummer is using, (mostly to play Cuban tunes). Gerry Zaragemca
This kit is my recording set; Groove Percussion Jazz Kit w/ 16'' Kick, 12'' snare, 10'' tom and 13'' floor tom. They're small drums but tuned low and with MoonGel on certain heads to keep over-ring in check, they rule! Zildjian K's round it out. The 20'' K. Custom Dark Ride gives me a stiffy...:

I use acoustic drums mainly but if a song calls for it or I'm experimenting, loops and samples have worked well. There is nothing like a real cymbal though. I've used kick and snare samples to craft a beat but I always add real hi-hat and cymbals.
