Driving an SR-16?

I'm curious if the MIDI tempo clock in my Fostex D-160 can be used to start or regulate the tempo of my Alesis SR-16 drum machine.

Obviously, I can just put down a drum track with the SR-16 and use IT as the tempo reference, but if I wanted to use the internal metronome of the D-160, can I slave the SR-16 so that it matches up (for example, to add a drum machine track after the fact, as in a remix)?

Thanks for any info.

Yo Hot Charles:

I don't know too much about MIDI but I used to use the Alesis SR-16. I recollect that the information you want would be in the manual. Or, you can post your question directly to Alesis on the web.

Yes you can Charles!
Go to midi setup on the SR16- page 5, and set the clock in to "on".

MIDI "Musical instrument digital interface".
I'm not a MIDI guy either, but yes, any unit with the eight pin MIDI plugs will sync up and work each other. I think it is a great
tool once you learn to use it. Those who
have entered the knowledge think it is the
greatest.
