Hello Everybody,

It's been a while since I posted the song and I have been working on it following all the advices.

First I would like to thanks all who listen to it, I really appreciate your time for doing so with the guidance and encouragement

I have redo the bass line with the keyboard and changed the guitars a bit on the intro

I have re do some guitars as well, the first verse choruses and end of the chorus

I have EQd the drums seperatly and change the original toms so not sure of the result though(not even sure if they sounds right )

For the voice I used the original ones for now, living in an appartment block I'm spearing my neighbors understanding :(

Any tips greatly appreciate it as always

A Big thanks

This has come a long way from the first version. I like it.

There is something off-kilter in your groove. For example I hear it strongly in the intro, where the lead guitar isn't playing in time, and it follows into the first verse. There's a hesitance in way you sing the first verse. It sounds to me like you're reacting to the lack of a solid rhythm.

The song comes together around 1:08 when you get into your first chorus. That is more solid, though the timing of your bass could be improved. Likewise, that break at about 1:35 sounds tighter, as it the verse that follows. Though the bass could still be more solid.

I noticed something at your break around 2:20 when the bass falls out. That was the most solid part of the song, rhythmically. That tells me the bass is the source of a lot of your timing troubles. That would be where to start in fixing them. Keeping the bass line simple will make it easier.

I struggled with timing forever in my music. It's hard to get the programmed drums and live instruments grooving together. What I would suggest is to break it down to your basic rhythm tracks and adjust timing mistakes by hand. At least get the strong beats lining up across all the rhythm instruments. If that bass synth is in MIDI, easier still. What I found was that timing mistakes in the rhythm tracks multiply, they make it harder for the vocals and lead instruments to play in time. So I try to get them super tight, which gives the melodic tracks more freedom.

I see you've been working on your guitar and making progress. The playing is better than on the last version. That opening solo isn't good enough for the rest of the song, IMO, but you're getting there. You've got a habit of bending flat. It's easy to fix once you're aware of it. Get those bends up to pitch.

Good to see you posting!

Yeah - Robus has it pretty much - the drum groove is stiff and choppy, a little out of sync and sounds like it's throwing off the rest of the band.
The mix is great but the groove is distracting - I have to concentrate to really get the mix details. Playing is great - Singer is excellent - love the voice. :D:D:D:D

Hi Robus,

Thank you for your advice, I have to admit something was bothering me but could not put my finger on it...and I believe you nailed it :) hopefully I will be able to fix it thanks to you. Had a quick listen again changing few parameters in the drums and I was able to get the idea(well I think :) ) of what the groove could or should be to be more in tune with the rest of the mix. I will redo the bass line as well and the guitar lead on the intro and possibly both verses once I get the groove right. As there was no mention of the choruses I presume they are ok(hopefully) :D

Thanks a lot for your time and listening

Hi ido1957,

Thanks a lot for taking the time to listen, I will definitely be focusing on the groove as Robus and yourself point it out.

Thanks a lot :)
