Hi all,
Recently upgraded micro BR with DP-008, but I'm having some questions. I can't get headphone output to be loud enough. Even with output vu meter showing max output it's still pretty quiet (headphone volume is set to 10). The same headphones (sony MDR studio monitors) are pretty loud with the micro BR.
Also, I'm having hard time understanding how pan controls for each track work. When it's centered the sound is very quiet; it gets louder as I turn the pot to the left or right. Is that normal behavior? I'd expect the volume to be the same level and just change the panning from left to right, but not increase the volume.
Any advice?
thanks,
Bane

my pan levels seem to be pretty consistent regardless where they are. input and output act the same?

my head phones are sufficient i guess. you do have the volume control right beside the jack turned all the way up?

yeah, those dp-008 have pretty weak drivers or amps. what i do is get it just loud enough to where i can control the volume and it be loud enough without clipping...try recording as loud as you can get (including turning up the input volume) without clipping and you should get to where you can hear it nicely. also i use ipod earbuds and it gets really loud but i also have a amp and spearker set up to run my through..a cheap set up but nice quality sound.

also as far as the instrument getting louder when you pan hard left or right....could it be that its getting more volume and space in the mix/ like is it not as cluttered by being all together in the center?
