I always loved double albums and very rarely did I need to condense them to a single or chop bits off although "Kiss alive 2" and "Made in Japan" were a couple. Gosh, "Physical graffitti" was my first Zep LP. I still love it and there isn't a song I'd dispense with ~ not even "Boogie with Stu" ! Actually, I'm quite surprized that the quality of most of the double albums I got in my initial burst of album collecting was so good. Stuff like "Bring it back alive" (The Outlaws), "Live" (Status Quo), "On your feet or on your knees" (Blue Oyster Cult), "Kiss Alive" (Kiss), The White album (The Beatles), "Live album" (Grand Funk Railroad)........That last Grand Funk one was one that the OP posted about ~ I could never figure out why sides 1 & 4 were on one disc. I thought it was a mistake. It never mattered to me because even in the 70s I recorded everything onto cassette in the order
I wanted it.
Of course who can forget the records you would get on the back of cereal boxes.I still remember getting a Bobby Sherman single off a box of Crispy Critters.
My sister back in 1970 got this Cindy doll that came with a flexi disc. It was pretty good. I still remember bits of it and the guitar leads in the tune...
"We've got the answer - there's no doubt
We got Cindy. The doll we love the best.
Sweet Cindy, her name is Cindy
She is the sweetest doll you ever could see
Sweet Cindy, yeah, that's Cindy
Everyone knows that she belongs to me-ee"
[followed by spunky lead break !]
Either I've got one fantastic memory or I need to get out more !
