So I have an old mixer. How do I tell if it's balanced or not? I have these new monitors that are balanced. Will I hurt anything if I plug in balanced speakers from unbalanced mixer? Thanks!

It should not hurt anything at all. Out of curiosity, what mixer is it? Are the outputs XLR or 1/4"? Often times mixers will have a small block diagram on the back that will show the connector breakdown of things like inserts, line in's, outputs etc... You could also try and chaeck the mnanufacturers website for a manual.
