I can't believe we are still discussing this. I have lost all respect for this board!! There are so many other much more important topics that people have been discussing, or trying to discuss and yet you keep talking about this idiot asking for help with his illegal version of Cubase.

If your so sensitive that a discussion about stealing software makes you lose all respect for this board, then you might just want to leave now. If you can't understand how someone who paid $600 for Cubase doesn't want to help someone who stole the software then I 'lose all respect' for you. There is free recording software out there. There are cheap versions of recording software out there. There is no reason to steal it.

If I remember right, in an earlier thread you had some credentials listed at the bottom of your post that lead me to believe you work with kids, like at a school or something (I will apologize in advance if i have you confused with someone else, the rest of the statement still stands on it's own regardless). I would certainly hope that people who work with our kids would realise that a discussion about the negative impact of stealing software is certainly as important or more important in the long term than "how do I pan my flute to the left side". They certainly aren't learning that stealing is bad from most of their friends so I would hope that an influential teacher would work to counter that.

I have the full versions of all my software. Sibelus, Finale, Cubase, Kontakt. I have not stolen anything. And I do teach my kids properly thank you. this thread is not really helping anyone learn about stealing software. It is is just bogus.

BUT AFTER 30,000 views and 700 posts I don't think it has worked so lets move on.

Well let's see...30k views, and 700 posts....that would leave me to believe that it IS a subject that people want to discuss regarding Cubase. Regarding it not working...hmmm...I don't see anyone named Hector asking for my help. Gee I think it worked! If you take the time to read the whole thread you will also see that there are a few people who DID change their views regarding piracy. Again, it worked.

Now you say this thread shouldn't be here, yet you took time to post that you have 'lost all respect' for this forum because of this thread which did what? ...oh ya, moved the thread to the top again. Hmmmm.

I understand that you have only been here a month and a half, but no one except Dragon decides what threads stay here and when people should 'move on'. If you don't like the thread then don't bump it to the top and just 'move on' yourself. When the thread no longer holds relevance or the interest of anyone, then it will die.

There was a kid down the street from me who was just dying to make his own beats. Man he was really down and out. I didn't wanna do it but I broke into some guys house who I knew was a musician and I stole his gear and gave it to the kid. I know that that guy used those tunes he wrote to feed his family and maybe he can't do that anymore cause all his gear is gone but you shoulda seen the smile on this kids face. Within a couple of days he was selling cd that he made using the stolen gear. Now he doesn't have to beg for money to get his meth. He can buy all the meth he wants with the money he's makin from cd's. Now I know it was wrong and that some hard working dude that paid for all his gear is now out of a means to feed his family but there's a kid out there that can support his habit now because I have no morals. I thought,"Well, I should really pass those values on. Teach that kid that it's ok to be dishonest." After all what's one more theif in the world?

But hey, the kid isn't robbing or killing you or your family now. He has been placated and is now a good member of society because he can now make beats! Everyone knows that people who need Cubase but can't afford it, will rob and murder to get it. You saved lives with your move...don't feel bad.
