I suspect the answer is "it won't work", but trying to see if anyone has solved how to use a Soundcraft Signature MTK mixer/usb interface with a computer with Windows 11. I have been scouring the internet, but have not seen anyone post a solution. It appears the drivers for this interface stopped in 2019, and I have seen reports that the interface does not work well on Windows 11 (ie. very noisy, poppy, crackly). I have not yet picked up my mixer, but I just paid online to go pick one up, and I am now starting to think I need to reverse that transaction....

anyone?

by the way, I was a regular person here on Homerecording from 2001-2007 or so, and then fell off the recording game. Just getting back into it (the delay is called having kids who now are grown up)

Given the pos that Windows 11 is, it wouldn't surprise me.

I've been running the MTK 22 channel version for a few years on Windows 10 with no issues.

You could always install Windows 10, if possible. Depending how new your computer is, you may have some issues finding drivers, or maybe no problem at all.

The MTK series does have a bit of a sketchy history and a host of problems as you've probably read, failing power supplies, build quality, failures in general. Mines been working without issue on year 3 here. I'm expecting it to fail though, and have other plans for when it does.

You could try the notepad driver on Windows 11. That is what I'm using on W10 and it performs exactly as the original 2016(?) driver, i.e. no issues.

I am confused? Windows 11 on 2 computers now and no issues of any kind. A few tiny thing niggle me, but all my software that worked on 10 works, and so far, nothing gives me any grief at all?

I'm happy Windows 11 is working well for you Rob. My issues with 11 are not specific to audio interfaces. You bring up a good point though, OP should just try it and see, he may have absolutely no issues. cstocksdale, you also might consider backing out of the transaction, if it is not too late. As I stated above the MTK series does have its potential issues (they all can / do, but the MTK more then others it appears), and there are newer products out there that might do the job better for you. Do you need a mixer type recording interface?

I have decided to return it. I haven't even bothered to try to see if it will work with Win 11. I jumped on the purchase because it looked like a very good deal from Long and McQuade (store in Canada with a very good return policy). But after lots of reading, there are just so many issues with this product. I can't see this being a piece of gear that will still be working in 5-10 years.

I was mainly keen to increase my input count to my DAW, but I don't need the mixer part of it.

I currently use a Yamaha MG16/4 mixer, and a Native Instruments Komplete Audio 6. I use a TC Electronics M300 in between the two to convert 2 outputs of the mixer to SPDIF, and then I can use all 6 inputs of the Komplete. However, when I use the M300 as a A/D converter, I can't use it as an effect processor at the same time, and I would like to be able to use it as a compressor on numerous inputs.

I was wanting to get up to minimum 8, but ideally 12 inputs so that I can record 2 guitars, 1 bass, 2 vocal, plus multiple mics on the drums. I might just go for something like a Arturia X8 In, or ESI U86XT, or Presonus Studio 1824c.

in fact, I just landed a Focusrite Scarlett 18i20 3rd Gen for a great price from L&M, so that will be my direction forward
