On the other hand, what's wrong with the C1000Ss? I've recently listened to a saxophone cd that was recorded with a C1000S and I was positively surprised about the sound quality.

yea, there has been a backlash backlash with this mic.

the word on the street is that it is overpriced, but amazing on electric guitar cabs...

Well, I made it clear he should only avoid it if he records digitally,

personally i would recomend against them no matter what, simply because of the price.

I was hanging out with some bluegrass guys over the weekend and we got to talking about mics and one of the guys was telling me how much he likes the c1000 on his F-5 mando.

All I could say was "Cool"............
