Does your guitar have a name?

Carvin DC-120 is named Carlotta
Ovation acoustic is Opal Rose
Epiphone Riviera is Sue
Kramer acoustic is named Vicky
Gibson LG2 is Lynda
Valley Arts tele is Amy
Banjo goes by the name Shorty

and yes, in true bluesman fashion, they're all named for former GFs.

I have a:

Hamer double cutaway that I call "J-Lo", because it is skinny on the top and nice and big on the bottom...

Blue 1990 Jackson Dinky that I call "CJ", because my buddy that I bought it from named it after CJ Parker (Pamela Anderson's character on baywatch) cause it was just so damn pretty.

1989 Black Charvel Randy Rhoads Flying V, that I call ..(what else?) "Randy".

1986 Westone Super Strat that I put an EMG in, and the single coil from "Randy" in the neck position, that I call "Frankenstrat"

Early '70s Yamaha FG-110 that I call "Zeke" after my uncle who gave it to me

I had named a guitar after an ex once. Bad idea. I ran into the bitch and got into a fight with her. I was so mad when I got home that I took it out on her namesake and smashed that thing across the balcony....

Never again will I name one of my axes after a current or former girl (even though I am married.... you never can tell)....

I call my heavely customized tele " psyco bitch ".....named after my 2nd wife...who was also heavely customized and a nut job bitch!!!

my inverness green les paul r-7 is named jessica and i'm trying to come up with a name for my new cs356. any suggestions on the name for the cs356? i'll attach attach pic of it. i'm thinking maybe julianne....i dunno though.

She looks like a Lola to me. "L-O-L-A Lola..." :)

Martin Acoustic: Jessica
Taylor Acoustic: Mick
Les Paul Sunburst: Melissa
SG Doubleneck: Dumb & Dumber (I hate that guitar)
Strat: Jimi

My LP is called (only in my head - I don't think anyone else knows it has a name) "Ol' Tillie." Named after Uncle Jessie's moonshine running car from one of the very early Dukes episodes. They share a similar far-from-glossy black finish and are both pretty darn dependable workhorses.

I'm still searching for a name for my acoustic, but after 6 years, nothing has stuck, although "Sexy Sadie" has been considered, but doesn't seem to fit.

I considered calling my guitar "Tina", being that I slap that bitch up like just like Ike, but I thought better of it......

The black Strat: "The Strat"
The Les Paul: "The Les Paul"
The Martin D-28: "The Martin"
The Ibanez Bass: "The Ibanez bass"

I also have pet names for lots of other things around the house. I call my wife's Suburban "the Suburban." The lawn mower - "lawn mower." The leaf blower...usually I just call it "the leaf blower" unless it's being cantankerous and hard to start, and then I call it "you f#%king piece of S*#t!"

I could go on, but I think you get the picture... :D

blue strat=89 usa strat
black strat=96 squire strat i modded to hell
jazz=75 jazz reissue
schecter=schecter model-t rob deleo
les paul=les paul studio

yes, im very creative.

ROFL!

Cool avatar BTW.

The Beast (Aria pro II HSS strat modded to dimarzio HSH, floyd, reshaped and sanded body)
The Lesocaster (homemade HH Strat with fixed bridge)
The Black One (lightweight Gothic Les Paul rippoff with SG depth body)
The Beast MKII (er, samick HSS replaced with with dimarzios)
The acoustic.

Willy.

I'll jump in with the names................
My natural finish 77' LesPaul Deluxe is "Marilyn"
71' LesPaul Deluxe is "Betty"
78' L6-S is "Elsie"
Guild D-25 is "Big Red"
Ovation Celebrity is "Ruby"
White Jazz Bass is "Vanna"
White P Bass is "sparkle"
Natural Vantage Bass is "Woody"
Blue Vantage Solidbody is "Blue"

for reasons I can't explain, my PRS CE-24, white Carvin strat, Red Fender FMT, black Tele, black 335 (Lucille is too obvious) and Red Vantage 12 string don't inspire any names.
And I never had names for any amps !!! go figure !

when in tune its called - guitar

when outta tune its called - furniture

5 string NS- "don't fucking touch that"
Mid 70's yamaha acoustic- "the acoustic" and sometimes "I don't care if you can play "Smoke on the Water"

Only guitar I've *ever* named

"Tax Return"
