sure its great but you can always count on at least every other thread to contain reference to the RNC at any given moment..

Perhaps it is because the thing is an incredible deal, looked at in pure bang-for-the-buck terms?

It really *is* the best bang for the buck for what it does. For a stereo compressor to strap across a mix bus, you just aren't going to find a better deal. Today, anyway.

The same thing could be said for Oktava and Studio Products and Shure SM57 mics, for N-Track recording software, for Mushkin memory, for Neutrik connectors, for a lot of different products. They come up here time and again because a lot of people have tried a bunch of things and concluded that they are a good value.

Most people who come here don't have unlimited funds: one of the great services that this forum provides is a mechanism to sort out the bang/buck wheat from the expensive chaff. The good stuff is _going_ to come up time and again, just for that reason.

Have you tried an RNC? You probably ought to... Don't take my word for it: lay hands on, and just see if you'll want to give it back!

yep i have one.. i agree but I think if you do the search you would find a gazillion refs to that item on this board.

I read on another forum that FMR was about to release a new version of the RNC that will have balanced I/O and a couple of other refinements. Does anyone know anything about that ? I've been wanting to buy one but I was waiting to see if there really is a new version coming soon.

enemy,

over the years ive bought a bunch of crap...since ive been hanging around here, not a one purchase ive made based on recommendations has been a bad one.....if someone is looking for the best frickin' compressor under $1000, these guys here dont get a single dime for recommending the RNC....but im glad they do.....

I plug the RNC at Harmony all the time - for the same reason I do it here.... it's an excellent compressor, and when you factor in the price, it's an oustanding value for your recording dollar.

And Mark (McQuilken) doesn't pay me a dime (free gear) ;) to say that!

:)

Well... actually....

Dragon is part of the west coast Palomino crime family, and charges "protection" from all the gear manufacturers....

FMR, Mackie, Shure, etc. have paid up.

Behringer Mixers keep getting their thumbs snapped...

Just kidding :D

Is the RNC rackmountable???????

Peavey and yamaha guitars???????

no, Peavey and Yamaha guitars arent rackmountable....

Gidge,

Hand me a Peavey or a Yamaha guitar and I'll make it fit in your rack ;-)

Just would require a slight neck adjustment... bwahahahaha

I'm reporting Fletcher to trade descriptions ...... where is the Merc????
