The loudest band I've heard so far was a pop band with a FOH engineer celebrating his 21st by pushing all faders up (Mi Sex - The Silver Dollar Room), the second loudest was a pop trio at the same venue (the Swingers - ex Split Enz guitarist/writer) & the 3rd was a blues/hard rock band at the local (Rose Tatoo at the Miller Hotel Fairfield with Lobby Loyd on bass)
Riffs?
Sabbath, Zep, Budgie, Kinks
Attitude?
?????
Subject matter?
Sabbath's 1st album mock horror fun...
Clothing? From Spinal Tap to...
Instrumentation?
And most of the ones I've mentioned are Hard Rock for Dogman so where to?
You don't get many who stick to keys - Young Gods maybe.

Yeah, my thing is, I've never called anything "Heavy Metal".....

Napalm Death...what are they? Skid Row? Godsmack? Maiden? Sabbath? I just say Hard Rock....But hell, I'm a fucking Douche. I only have about 4000 cd's...so I don't know shit about music. Nelson Rulez!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't think I've ever used "heavy" metal to describe anything , being as it sounds gay, but for the sake of a quick description (read-short conversation) I have resorted to listing my music of preference as "metal".

Granted, they both sound as queer as 3-dollar billz, yo.
