Does anyone write atheist based songs?

it's always a quandry for me - I'm a Christian who loves to play Death Metal

My Wife feels it's not right but I assure her that no matter what I play INSTRUMENTALLY it has nothing to do with my beliefs. I like a "few" Praise bands but for the most part I'm still a head-banger who loves listening to and playing Metal (at 58 no less...). I also love Classic Rock too and Blues. Most of the Metal I listen to is older - CLUTCH, GODSMACK, etc and I don't really pay attention to lyrics - it's the riffs I'm hearing and trying to memorize. I know Jesus will understand :D

I'm a Christian who's trying to start a grindcore band where most of our lyrics are about eating human infants.

Just remember, this will seem tame in 20 years. :D

We are surrounded by air that we breath in through our lungs which is mixed with our blood, goes into our brain and my brain tells me that this is a run on sentence. We can digest food to give us energy while impurities are filtered out of our body. Our eyes refocus as quickly as we can turn them. Our fingerprints are all different. We all have unique personalities and each of us have something in our life we love to do.

This just all happened randomly. The sun came up, shined on the ground and we all just grew out of nothing.

Speaking of the sun-can you feel the heat from a lightbulb from across the room? The sun is ninety three million miles away and we can feel the heat from it.

Do you know that when an object gets cold it shrinks in size? Then why does water expand when it is frozen? Did you know if ice contracted it would sink to the bottom of a lake and would never thaw, and the world would freeze? Did you know that if the world was one foot less in diameter it could not sustain life? Did you know that Darwin died with a Bible in his hand?

You have probably guessed that my answer to the question is no, one thing that I would never do is write an atheist based song. LOL

Thanx for the topic though!

-Just to keep with the topic-I am fascinated with Latin Pop music. It is pretty much all I listen to-I don't have any idea what they are singing about.

You are just speaking from ignorance. Just go online and read some literature on the subject, its all explained why that is (also, you fail to realize that the surface of the sun is 5000 Kelvin or so).

Seriously, first page on Google http://www.word-detective.com/howcome/waterexpand.html. Do your god damned research before you spout idiotic claims.

It would sink because it would be dense and lose its buyouncy. But yeah, there's a scientific explanation why it doesn't. Its 5th Grade Science. The answers are everywhere.

Also, because ice sinks, the world would freeze? I have one thing to say to that.......ready?

.......

huh?

Did you know that if the world was one foot less in diameter it could not sustain life?

Citation please.

Did you know that Darwin died with a Bible in his hand?

Urban legend, started by a lady in I believe the 1910's. Someone who had no personal relation to Darwin at all.

(besides, just because Darwin may have "converted" to creationism, doesn't mean that everything he has said was wrong....in fact, all the science of the 20th and 21st century confirm what he theorized in the 1840's. Seriously...use some logic here.....also, remember, Darwin is not some freaking messiah. He was a scientist. Trying to "demonize" him in an atheist's eyes is not the same demonizing Mohamad or Jesus to a Muslim or Christian)

I think that was intended more as a "Isn't creation wonderful!" than "I don't understand these things" question.

A lot of aspects of the world ARE pretty convenient for us as living creatures. :D

yeah and some are pretty darn inconvenient too.

It wouldn't be real convenient to be in Chile right now, or to have brain cancer or be watching your kid dying by inches in front of you from some degenerative disorder.

but yeah I guess on the whole earth will do until the aliens come and pick me up in their magic space chariots

Yeah, i think it's ironic how a lot of people who believe in god think that those who don't are somehow 'lost' or in need of help or guidance.

I usually see it the other way around. In my opinion those who believe 'god' created the universe are a lot more confused than me :D

Oh well.
Really? Interesting.

So how was the universe formed? The bible isn't clear on the details. I'm anxious to learn the truth.

More importantly, WHY was the universe formed?

The bible is much clearer on that subject ... and to my knowledge, it's the only document in history that is. For science lovers, I direct you to the writings of C.S. Lewis, one of many considerable intellects who have attempted -- and failed -- to prove Christianity is a myth. He raises this same question in "Mere Christianity," which carries substantially more intellectual weight than any $5 book you'll find in the checkout line at Wal-Mart.

Here's the characteristic of the Christian God that we're failing to recognize here. He gave us free will. You are free to believe or disbelieve anything you want, including Him. No one is holding a gun to your head. Of course, He wants you to follow Him. He wants you to love Him. But the choice is yours. I can't force you to believe, and God won't.

Jesus said, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." There is one way to salvation. Not self-actualization. Not self-godship. Just Him. Period. There's no ambiguity, at least not for me. I choose to believe that.

You, on the other hand, are free to disbelieve if you wish. All you have to do is ignore it.

However, if you find it difficult to ignore that passage and you'd like to know more, PM me.

There's a lot more than CS Lewis, btw.

In fact, I really don't see how people think of him as an atheist. I mean, the Lion, Witch, and Wardrobe is a freaking allegory for the bible.

Also, why is meaningless without how.

dude. you could have just said "no" and actually answered the thread question rather than proclaiming your "i am holier than thou" b-s and all of your "i know what god wants because I said so" ideologies as the answer to questions that are astronomically unfathomable.

you are a blasphemer sir, in every sense of the word. assuming that you know the will of god. shame on you.

i am an atheist. i write A LOT of songs about non-beleif and about how wonderfully freeing it is. about how the meaninglessness of the universe is wonderful for me.

so yes
