Does anyone use Sound Devices preamp in studio?

I need to buy portable preamp and Sound Devices MM-1/MixPre
seems to be my strongest candidate.

Can these preamps double as good studio preamp also?

How does sound compare for RNP or some other studio preamp in
same price range?

In studio I need it for voice over (probably whit some dynamic mic)
and sometimes for acoustic instruments.

Yes, sure that Grace would be great.
But 1500$ is totally out of my budget.
I'm looking something around 500$.
