I know, I never accused you of spamming in the first place...Read it again ;)

db,

I know, were cool  I bagged Stinky a bit, because he said I spammed, and I did not. I did not mean to bag him, but I make it a point to be sure I do not Spam..:D

db,

You are right, but also wrong............after re-reading this thread I agree, Justin Hyatt did step over the line, but Stinky's post specifically named Alan.........implication being that Alan spammed, which we know wasn't the case.

Alan,

I'm loathe to say this but it would be wise to request Justin NOT to even joke about spam and if he is unable to submit totally unbiased posts here then I would suggest he doesn't post at all. You know where I stand with your products and philosophies, so please don't misunderstand me.

ChrisO

for what its worth, i believe Alan and Justin are free to post how they see fit until Dragon or a Moderator says different......

Hiya Gidge,

Correct you are, and I was saying similar some time ago, but no matter how well (or ill) intentioned someone's post may be, there is always someone who will either intentionally or unintentionally miscontsrue things..............a perfect example is the mic comparisons/tests/shootouts and the crap that usually surfaces around those posts.

You know how the youngsters are, and you know he ain't gonna listen to me. :D After all, I'm his father! I can say he knows way more about BBS's than I do, but he too will learn as I have...give him a little time. He know's a good deal about the product, but not a good deal about all the recording situations yet, but I am teaching him. He will be very proficient soon enough, so his comments really are based on his eager ability to answer questions on the product he knows. SO you know, I do not misunderstand you...were cool

Gidge,

  :D

Errrr....How does that make me wrong??? Am I responsible for what Stinky implies???

I really fail to see your logic, not that it matters

I for one am getting sick of the spam police.I think it is up to the moderator what constitutes spam.Unless the powers that be decide otherwise people should be able to post whatever they want.To suggest that someone not post unless their post meet the approval of other members smacks of facism.Funny thing is that if not for the Hyatts this thread would have had zilch for actual information, the only other responses were from the spam police and had nothing to do with the topic of this thread. If I were to cut the bullshit out of this thread the spam polices post would be the first to go.

Funny thing,if someone besides the Hyatts had suggested an alternative to the mics being discussed no one would have attacked them for being off topic but because it was the Hyatts(who also offered the only concrete info on the mics being discussed)someone had to crawl out from under a rock and yell "spam".Hey I got news,we're all big boys and girls and can make up our own minds what constitutes spam and what doesn't.I don't need anyone trying to define it for me,if you don't like what someone post, ignore it and move on.If you haven't noticed the accusations of spam move the whole thread totally off topic.

Ha ha you want to censor criticism?? Now *that* "smacks of fascism", as you say.

I don't need anyone trying to define it for me

I'm not trying to help you, I'm just stating it annoys me. Got it?

if you don't like what someone post, ignore it and move on

I've been trying to avoid posts on SP, and that's what got me upset in the first place : when I can't read a thread on BPM mics without stumbling on a "buy my SP mic at 399" it has gone too far.

db,

I retract the comment saying you were wrong.....my apologies. At the time I wrote that reply I was battling continual disconnection problems with my ISP and misread a post.

Randy,

QUOTE; "I think it is up to the moderator what constitutes spam.Unless the powers that be decide otherwise people should be able to post whatever they want"

I have been advocating this for months........!

QUOTE; "To suggest that someone not post unless their post meet the approval of other members smacks of facism."

If this referred to my comment to Alan, then you misunderstood. Although I think Justin was out of line mentioning the TB-1 and it's pricing in that instance, my suggestion to Alan was aimed at reducing "bait" for the self-appointed spam police to bite at. Or if you like, "Teach Your Children", nothing more and nothing less.

Guys, maybe I came off a little harsh but it seems to me people just wait for Alan(and now Justin) to make a comment and then they yell spam.I really think that too much is made of it as spamming doesn't really seem to be much of a problem and what people could constitute as spam could easily be ignored.I took Justins remark as a joke poke at Gidge and nothing more.Maybe not the funniest joke but just a harmless little comment that was not worth any of the hoopla it seemed to instigate.

I gotta say that if I made a mic I probably would be kicked off the forum(and rightfully so)for shameless spamming as I don't know the meaning of restraint.I think overall Alan does a remarkable job at holding his enthusiasum in check and I'm sure that Justin will find his place here also.I know Studio Projects get a lot of post here but from what users responses have been maybe they deserve it.I know there are plenty of mics out there and many of them are quite good but Studio Projects have definately found a place among homerecordest, like the SM57,the Behringer ECM8000's,MxlV67,they are some of the mics used and talked about most frequently.

Hi, I recently e-mailed BPM Studio Technik and asked them where their microphones were manufactured.

They replied me as follows:

"Dear Mr. Jimenez,

well, the electronics and the capsule are made in Germany. The suspension,
the flight case as well as some metal works are not made in Germany, but the
impotent parts are done here.
Best regards
BPM Customer Service"

Are they lying as they did before?
