Hi,
I was wondering if anyone knows about this mic.
Studio Technik B.P.M TB10.
It's a tube mic that I am considering for my Home Studio.
Anyone?
Ronnie,
I promise I wont say anything to piss off DB51...
The BPM mics are Chinese, but that does not make them bad. In fact they are very good mics, but just too much money considering all the other brands out now where the quality is just damn good.
The BPM TB10 is a fixed cardioid valve mic. Udo Beckamire(sorry about the spelling Udo) is the owner of BPM. The problem we had was that the mics came with a certificate from the German Chamber of Commerce saying that the mics were German made, when in fact everything about them was Chinese.
That was a turnoff for us, so I decided to start designing my own mics and part ways with BPM. The concern you should have is service. No one here services them, so you will have to send them to Germany if there is a problem. Not that Udo won't fix them, but the shipping costs are prohibitive.
There are a couple of BPM mics on closeout if you are still looking for a BPM mic, it might help you. Just go to
www.pmiaudio.com and click on the PMI Closeout link.
Now don't anyone here say I am selling or Spamming. This guy asked about BPM, and I am not trying to turn him into anything else, so you better just not go there on this one...
