...no hardware comes with a version of sonar producer, Digital performer, or a waves diamond bundle for free.

Which is why Cubase will be the last man standing. And it's not about quality - Beta was a better platform than VHS, and that had nothing to do with pirates either.

The Thread is dead; long live the Thread

The day Cubase A. performs well on a Mac, B. offers anything remotely comparable to DP's features, and C. doesn't require a dongle, I'll switch from Digital Performer. Until then... not a chance.

It's aliiive, heheh...

My point, was not that Cubase was a better program ("it's not about quality"), but that it has a better and more contemporary marketing policy - a 'free' and liberal distribution of their software - that will make them leaders in the years to come.

...but you probably just wanted to resurrect the The Un-Thread, bwahahaha
;)

Wow, another nameless coward gave me neg feedback. What an asshole. To funny. Go on with your bad self, coward.

Or, if you feel it's ok for to steal, then I don't suppose you'd mind if we downloaded some of your bank account. After all, it's just data, right?:D

Thats funny you all feel that way cause 139 Seeders / 17 Downloaders are saying otherwise, and keep in mind thats just a snapshot of the torrent and not its total usage.

The only people who are bitter about piracy are ones that get screwed from it and aging professionals who are intimidated by the reality of technology.

Look, this is how licensing and software piracy work together: companies make it and sell to business, who are the only ones accountable for their actions. They make a unlicensed version (not stripped down or people will just pirate the corporate version) for consumers. The businesses buy multiple licesenses because they have tons of disposable income to do so, the software company makes tons of cash, everyone gets a copy and the world keeps turning. Some software companies already realize the reality of technology, being technology companies themselves, and are doing this, AVG antivirus is one for example.

Next to follow suit will be the musicians themselves that pirated the software in the firstplace (unless they were dumb enough to pay for it themselves or had supermegasoundcorp get it for them). Right now everyone wants to push their "art" on the inferior outdated medium that is the CD. They too will have to accept that you can not longer sell digitized music except to those who are dumb enough to buy it.

Information is free. If you dont like it, theirs alot of 3rd world countries out there.

edit: im sorry, i didnt see that this horse got beat to death 28 pages ago.

Turn off the power for a few days -as if by magic, hardware is free.

I wouldn't think of that as "stealing," it's more like "revenue sharing."

Ya think? I was the one who was bitter when my car got broken into too. Kinda works that way.

So businesses are buying up multiple licences of BFD drum software and Nuendo, and all the music CDs, and everyone's making tons of cash? What do they do with all the CDs and drum software? Why do they buy them?

And the people who generate all that info work for free?

You are soooooooooooooooo clueless about the real world. Software is not simply information, it is intellectual property that cost real money to create, and when that investment is not returned because people STEAL it, the real people who created it lose their jobs and go home to thier real house payment and real mouths to feed with no money to make ends meet.

YOU PUSSY!!! FUCK ALL YOU NAMELESS COWARDS THAT ARE LEAVING NEG FEEDBACK FOR ME ON THIS THREAD!!! I went from 32 rep points to 0. ASSHOLES~!!!! Post your names, cowardly bitches!!! I hope you nameless cowards get anal cancer and bleed to death from your ass!

There, now the neg feedback is justified, and I'm done with the thread, and site. It's like dealing with a bunch of 10 year olds.

You're leaving because of negative rep?

Nah, that last one just set me off. Ridiculous. If someone is going to leave neg rep, it should be for flaming or trolling or something like that. Not just because they disagree with ones opinion. It's childish. Also, they could grow a set and sign their name, along with a reason they feel you deserve the neg rep. It leaves me wondering where the moderators are.

I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure this is an unmoderated forum.

That's pretty hilarious. What does Toker do? He neg eps me for my above comment, and doesn't sign it.

Like it hurts at all from someone whose rep is in more red than our government....

Actually, rep is supposed to reflect your reputation as a musician on this board. So, if you were negged repped on this issue, it actually is quite appropriate to the whole idea.

What the hell are you talking about? When did I neg rep you?

"Have some more dikwad... Nice hissyfit by the way... And WE'RE acting like 10 year olds... HAHAHAHAHA THAT'S FUCKING RICH Signed: Toker41"

and

"hahahaha what a fucking assclown signed Toker41"

That is the 2 most recent neg rep. Whoever wrote it, step up and be a man. You know, like both your parents.

Kinda sounds like the same person. Funny that 2 people would write "signed Toker41".

Come on, pull your willy outta your daddy, and step up, coward.

You neg repped me at 18:09 tonight. It's very easy to verify. And you didn't sign it.

I did not rep you. It's easy to verify - just put that person on your ignore list, and the rep disappears.

Oh, and by the way, the same person cannot give you rep in the same relatively small time period. It is usually days before you can rep that person again.
