I dont know much about digital recording or just recording in general and was wondering if you would be recording a hard screaming/raspy singer would you need to buy a compressor?
the firepod is 24/96 so you just make sure that you don't allow the preamps on it to clip during recording. you can do all your compression with plugins after that. the 24/96 will allow you to record at a lower volume with less noise. then you can push the volume of the recorded track up to where you need it. the preamps on the firepod are fairly clean too, so thats another bonus when recording at low volume.
do any of you have some good reviews/links to reviews on the firepod and firebox? i can't remember the 8mic-in one, but that's the one i'm interested in.
