I had a Rode NT1a mic before i had this $100 MXL condenser mic. AND it seems like the RODE mic was more smooth meaning it didnt click as much as the MXL mic. DO some click more then others?? If so whats one of the best mics to use meaning it wont click as much and have total smoothness.

What do you mean by click? Under what conditions does it click? What mxl mic is it?

The click you have is your computer's soundcard or video card's memory update interrupt. If the clicking is sporatic, then it is most likely your audio buffer size is too small. Load the latest drivers from the company website for your motherboard, video card and audio card and set your buffer size in your DAW software to the appropriate size. Your clicking will probaly go away.

It is a legit question. He blames the mics for the clicking when his computer is most likely at fault.

Don't know if it clicks, BUT thats what i call it i guess. When i say words like CUT, or WHAT, or CLICK!!! u can here the T's or the KA! sounds. It probably is the computer, thats why i asked, BUT everyone keeps answerin my question wit a question. Did chu not read what i wrote or what...

They are answering your question with a question because until now we had no idea what "click" was.

Its usually not the click sounds but sibilances in mics. But i guess some mics could make it click more too. So yes i would say some mics do.

You are clipping your A/D converters. You have a mis-match in line levels probably. Do your gain scheduling and get back to us.

That's because your questions are about as clear as dirt, Saucy.

"Clicking mics?" Jeez, Hottpants. Get a brain.

Your stuff is sounding pretty good, though, I must admit. It's much better than the off-pitch dying whale mating calls you posted a few years back. If only your brain could improve as much as your music, you'd be on to something. :D And I do mean that as an off-hand compliment.

oh great. another thing to consider when I'm shopping for a new mic.......it's click rating. i can see it now.........the mxl's are best for things like hi-hats because they have a high click rating. ;)
