hey all, when mixing and mastering, i play each track on its own, and make all the adjustment to make it sound great like reverb, eq, compression and so on (if it is nessecary) and then check these sounds are ok by using my sterio (set up with speakers properly positionsed and with an eq that gives me what i think is the best sound can produce) my entertainment heaphones (sonys) and my little computer speaker, and my beyerdynamic monitering headphones, all of which i combine with a small sub aswell to double check the sounds.
once all the tracks are at there best i use my beyerdynamics phones to re-eq (if needed to help fit the mix or help cut through) and to mix the song in question.
and i would like to know if a good pair of moniters would really make all the difference in my mixing, as i check the sound through plenty of differnt listening devices anyway and i do use some good mixing headphones..
