Whats up everyone :)

Simple question: I'm wondering if i would need a daw if i get a mixer?

I'm new to this as you have probably found out haha.

Thanks in advance, Sean :D

Depends what you are mixing into, I suppose? You still need some way to record it, if that is your plan. Though mixers can be used live without any need to record.

If you are doing computer recording then you will need a daw. I suppose you could get an interface, use audacity, mix live through the mixer and record them in one take but you'll get more promising results in a daw.

Check out reaper. You can download it for free and see if you like it before you go pick out a mixer.

I have tried Reaper, it has a lot of problems tbh..

No, Reaper is a solid choice. And you can't beat the price.

You or your equipment may be the problem. Try another program or at least tell us what 'lot of problems' you have....

I created a thread of the problems i'm having with Reaper in the 'FEAR THE REAPER' thread. The thread is called 'Reaper is full of problems'

I saw that thread. You pretty much listed a bunch of user problems. "I understand why it is that cheap." If the same thing happened in Pro Tools would you say that?
